The "Essential" ones are strictly necessary for the game to work, so they don't need consent, and they never leave your device. Clear your browser's site data to delete them.
Visit counts (no cookies)
Our host, Cloudflare, counts page views with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device and does not track you across sites. Legal basis: legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)).
Player answer counts (no personal data)
When you play the daily game, each guess (Real or Satire, for which headline and day) and your final score are added to a shared tally, so everyone can see how other players answered. Each entry is an anonymous count: no ID, cookie, IP address or device detail is stored with it, and it cannot be linked back to you. Historical mode sends nothing. Legal basis: legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)).
Game analytics (only with your consent)
If you accept analytics, we send events such as "a daily game was started", "headline X was guessed right/wrong" and "results were shared" to PostHog (EU servers), tagged with the random id above. We use them to see which headlines fool people and to improve the game. We ask PostHog not to store your IP address. Withdrawing consent stops the events and deletes the id from your device.
Ads (only with your consent)
If you accept ads, our advertising partner Adsterra shows banners on the results screen and in endless mode. They load in an isolated frame that cannot read your game data or move you off the page, and Adsterra may use cookies to choose and count ads. If you don't accept, we show no ads.

Error reports
If the game crashes, a technical report (the error, browser version, page) is sent to Sentry so we can fix it. It contains no name, email, IP address or game history. Legal basis: legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)).
Hosting logs
Our host keeps short-lived server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) for security and to keep the site running. Legal basis: legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)).

Children
The game is not aimed at children under 13 and collects no personal data from anyone.
